I want you to feel like this is a safe place to ask questions. Remember you're my guest, so please ask me whatever questions you may have regarding the breed or myself. For your visit I've loaded beautiful music throughout the pages with your relaxation in mind. Grab a cup of coffee, pull up a chair, and browse with me for a while!! Many, many hours are spent developing this site to keep it looking fresh and current. I encourage all of my visitors to send me an email before leaving. I would like to hear from each of you to get an idea on what you thought of my site, and how I can better inform you about the breed. I try to answer every email I receive as quickly as I can, (I get a lot of them!) and I do my best to address all of your questions.

I am located in Billings, Montana. In recent months there have been several new "Papillon breeders" crop up in and around the Billings area. I want to make it very clear that I am not associated with any of them, and the caliber of my Papillons simply can not be compared to theirs. That's not me trying to be a snob that's me trying to say I breed for very different reasons and I am driven and motivated by different things. I have been in Papillons for nearly 30 years, they are newcomers, and I breed for quality champion show dogs, not puppies to sell. I breed from top producing, top winning Papillon lines that have proven to produce beautiful Papillons generation after generation which ultimately is beneficial to a buyer looking for a nice Papillon for their home. My pedigrees are proven to consistently produce Papillons of outstanding quality and health. So if you are looking for a pretty, healthy, sound, Papillon of quality you have come to the right place. If you're looking for a cheap puppy that lacks quality, beauty, and correctness as an adult then you need to contact them because you won't find any thing less than the best here.

Please learn more about my breeding philosophy below!

I am willing to take the time to assist and help others in their quest for that ideal butterfly or moth companion. I take that time, not because I have a puppy I want to sell you, because I seldom have any to sell, but because I feel education is of the upmost importance in order to protect and preserve our little breed. It really should be every breeders top priority as well. I will assist you in answering any questions you may have regarding the breed ,or in locating that perfect Papillon or Phalène baby from a reputable breeder in any state. It is so very important for perspective buyers to avoid people that are out there wanting to make a quick buck off of a needy public. These back yard breeders, or puppy millers simply don't have the knowledge base or fortitude to breed a healthy, happy puppy. They just want to make a quick buck off of you and your desire to have a puppy. Please buy from a breeder who shows their dogs in "good" competition, and then chooses the best there is to breed with. This produces a better quality of puppy, and will ulitmately produce a healthier, happier, prettier, puppy for you to love. This may not seem important to a person that is just looking for a pet/companion Papillon, but in essence it is very important for companion dogs too!

Breeders who use lesser quality animals for breeding, ultimately produce an inferior quality companion animal that more than not, runs a higher risk of developing health problems early in life, and not to mention they are never the most attractive of Papillons either. AKC Registration and Quality: There is a widely held belief that "AKC" or "AKC papers" guarantee the quality of a dog. This is not the case. AKC is a registry body. A registration certificate identifies the dog as the offspring of a known sire and dam, born on a known date. It in no way indicates the quality or state of health of the dog. Quality in the sense of "show quality" is determined by many factors including the dog's health, physical condition, ability to move and appearance. Breeders breeding show stock are trying to produce animals that closely resemble the description of perfection described in the breed standard. Many people breed their dogs with no concern for the qualitative demands of the breed standard. When this occurs repeatedly over several generations, the animals, while still purebred, can be of extremely low quality. Before buying a dog, you should investigate the dog's parentage (including titles, DNA and pedigree information), the breeder's breeding practices, the breed standard, and the genetic tests recommended by the Parent Club for the breed. For more information regarding purchasing a puppy/dog go to About Buying a Dog and visit the Parent Club website. Please don't fall for their schemes that play on your desires for a puppy. Buy from a breeder who loves the breed, knows the breed well, and can answer any questions you throw at them honestly, and who ultimately breed to the AKC standard. Yes, this is very important too! My theory is this...."You can pay a little more up front for a pretty, healthy, happy puppy from a reputable breeder, or pay what seems like a more reasonable price upfront for a poorer quality specimen, bred by a back yard breeder or puppy mill. If you decide on the latter you must then get ready to find out the real cost of you puppy and begin to really take it in the pocket book later for all your upcoming vet bills!" So, what you need to decide is where you want to pay and spend your hard earned money; up front, on or the tail end. Either way you are going to get what you pay for.

Now, a little bit about myself. I started in Papillons in 1982 with the purchase of a lovely R/W bitch from Doris Hodges, named Ch. Hodges Rasin H CD. I have been a member of the PCA since 1983 and belong to the Columbine Papillon Club based in Colorado. I have served on the PCA Color Comittee, and have served in the past as a regional reporter for Pap Talk. I have served PCA on several committes; the Pap Talk Committee in advertisements in addition to being on the PCA Reflections Committee. I am the List Moderator/Owner of two on-line groups; The Original Phalène List(founded 1998),and PapTalkConnection and I'm a member of about twenty more! Since my humble beginnings in 1982 I have had the honor of owning, showing, and finishing many lovely Papillons and all credit must either be given to the breeders whom so graciously entrusted me with their quality dogs, or allowed me access to their lovely stud dogs. I've shared a few of these dogs with you on my website and I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I had the pleasure of owning and loving them. Take your time browsing through all the pages of our dogs, past and present. Many of our first Papillons can be found on the "In Memory" page, all of them are now gone. They were all cherished companions and are greatly missed.
